What browsers does Interpretool support?

Chrome and Microsoft Edge only. These are the only browsers that let Interpretool listen to your call tab. Firefox and Safari do not support this feature.

How do I start using it?

Open your call in a browser tab — Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or any web-based softphone. Then open Interpretool, click Start, and select that call tab when the browser asks which tab to share. The transcription starts immediately.

Does it capture my voice too?

No. Interpretool only captures audio coming through the call tab — meaning the other parties on the call. Your own voice goes out through your microphone and is never captured or transcribed. This is by design.

How accurate is the transcription?

Very accurate for clear call audio. Medical terms, legal vocabulary, names, and numbers all come through well. Background noise or a poor phone connection will reduce accuracy — just like it would for your own ears.

How does billing work?

Every account starts with 60 free minutes per month — no credit card needed. After that, you can subscribe to a plan: Pro gives you 600 min/month for $19.99, and Heavy gives you 1,500 min/month for $34.99. Minutes reset monthly.

Can I get a refund?

Yes — if you subscribed and haven't used your plan minutes yet, contact us within 7 days and we'll refund you. Email hello@interpretool.com.

What language pairs are supported?

Interpretool works with 80+ languages. The default is English ↔ Spanish (Latin American), which covers most phone interpreting work. You can switch languages in the dashboard settings before starting a session.

Can I export my transcripts?

Yes — click the Export button at the end of your session to save the full transcript, including what was said in each language and the translations. Good for keeping session records.

Does it work with my softphone?

Yes, as long as your softphone runs in a browser tab (Zoom web, Teams web, Google Meet, RingCentral web, etc.). Desktop apps like Zoom desktop are not supported — use the browser version of the call instead.

The transcription stopped. What happened?

Your free minutes may have run out, or the browser lost access to the tab. Check your minute balance in the dashboard. If the issue continues, try refreshing the page and starting a new session, or email hello@interpretool.com.
